COMMUTING STUDENT INFORMATION

 

Check-In Date: Sunday, July 30, 2017 between the hours of 10am and 2pm

Please try to be on campus in time for the Orientation Meeting at 3:00pm

Upon arrival, go directly to the Summit Music Festival Office located on the 1st (middle) Floor of the Berman Center.  You will be welcomed by our staff who will check you in and confirm your paperwork, You will be provided with a your SMF ID and Manhattanville Swipe Card.

 

CONTACT INFORMATION – Please make sure that the office has your contact information as well as the primary way to communicate with you (text, email, message apps).

 

SWIPE CARDS:

Upon registration commuting Students, Faculty, and Guests will be issued a Manhattanville Swipe Card.  This card allows you to access Spellman Hall for practice rooms.  There is a $20 charge for a lost or stolen ID swipe card. You will need to carry your ID swipe card

 

Day students under 18:

You will need to sign in with the Junior Division Counselor located in the Student Center each day and you will need to sign out with the same counselor upon dismissal.  For those students who are placed in the Junior Division, the Junior Division Counselor must have a copy of your schedule and know where you are at all times.

 

Sunday July 30th

Students have free time during the morning and practice rooms will be available.  There will be several specific orientation meetings held in the throughout the day (Work Study, Office Information and others if needed).

 

The ORIENTATION MEETING will be held on Sunday July 30th 3:00 to 5:00PM.    All students, parents, and staff are expected to attend this meeting.  At the orientation meeting, you will get a chance to meet the Directors, Staff, and some of the faculty.  You will learn how the Summit Music Festival operates and create your schedule for your individualized program.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS & SCHEDULE UPDATES

Summit Music Festival will have several bulletin boards in the middle floor of the Berman Student Center.  All announcements and sign-ups will be posted here.  It is each student’s responsibility to check these boards several times a day.

 

CAFETERIA

The Cafeteria is located on the 2nd floor of Benziger Hall. Breakfast $6.72, Lunch $9.75, Dinner $12.90 (one price for all you can eat)

Cafeteria hours are as follows:

Mon-Sun:

Breakfast 7:00am – 9:30am

Lunch 12:00 – 2:00pm

Dinner 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Day Students – may pay cash for meals or load their Manhattanville Swipe card with $ and use it at the cafeteria.  Be sure to use all the money loaded on the card – the remaining balance will not be refunded.

 

CURFEW POLICY

All commuting students must be off the campus by 10pm.

 

STUDENT PARKING

For those bringing a car to the campus, either as a boarding student or as a day student commuting, you may park in any available lot (please see Rules & Policies for restricted parking information).

 

SWIMMING POOL & FIELD AVAILABILITY

We currently do not have any access to the pool or the athletic fields. It is prohibited for students to use the pool or fields/athletic spaces without permission. If the policies change during the festival, you will be informed.

 

INTERNET ACCESS

There is free WiFi on the Manhattanville Campus called Mville Wireless. Also, most rooms have a computer jack if you would like to also bring an ethernet cord. You are allowed to use the Manhattanville Library and Computers Labs to access the computers. The Library hours are 9am-9pm Monday through Thursdays, 9am-5pm on Fridays, and 10am-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
