geoffrey.kiddeGeoffrey Kidde is a composer, flutist, electronic musician and music educator. He has composed two operas: The Machine Stops (2011) based on the short story by E. M. Forster, and Samburan (2007) based on the novel Victory by Joseph Conrad. Compositions include works for chorus, orchestra, chamber ensembles, and works for electronics alone or combined with instruments. He is currently Professor of Music at Manhattanville College, where he teaches music theory, music technology and is chair of the Music Department. He received his D.M.A. in music composition from Columbia University, and his M. Mus. from New England Conservatory.
