Piano Intensive Seminar
Sunday, July 24 to Sunday, July 31, 2016
Alexander Braginsky, along with Pavel Nerssesian, will focus on developing and reinforcing technical skills for convincing interpretation and a successful performance. Pianists will work on fundamentals (scales and arpeggios) to the complex (advanced etudes), incorporating the art and knowledge of interpretation and mental preparation required for performances.
Participants are advised to follow and prepare the material suggested below and also be ready to learn and apply concepts covered between sessions.
Two virtuoso etudes, one from each category:
1) Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Debussy, Stravinsky, Bartok, Prokofiev, Mozskovski, Czerny (op. 740, Toccatta), Clementi (Gradus ad Parnassum)
2) Czerni (op. 740, op.299) Moszkovski, Clementi, Kramer
3) One mvt from a classical period sonata (Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Clementi) and a contrasting style/period piece (pieces)
