What are the 2024 Festival Dates?

The festival begins on Sunday, August 4th, 2023 through Sunday, August 18th, 2023

 

What is the location of SMF 2024?

The festival will be held at EF Academy, 582 Columbus Ave, Thornwood, NY 10594.  Please visit the Festival Location page for more details!

  

What is the arrival time?

Sunday, August 4th, 2024 – Please arrive between *12:00-4:00pm

You will be welcomed by our staff who will check you in and confirm your paperwork and contact information. Please make sure that the Staff has the primary way to communicate with you throughout the festival (text, email, message apps).

*If you need to arrive outside of this timeframe, please email the SMF Staff ([email protected]) to make special arrangements.

 

What can I expect on the first day of arrival – Sunday, August 4th, 2024?

The Orientation meeting will be Sunday, August 4th at 4pm in the Performance Hall

All students, parents, and staff are expected to attend this meeting. At the orientation meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet the SMF Directors, Staff, and some of the faculty. You will learn more about the program and how SMF operates.

  

Is there a Daily schedule?

YES! However, depending on the instrument, students’ schedules may vary. In general, students should expect to be in classes, seminars, and chamber music (if registered) every day.  Lessons are 2 times per week.  Other events will be announced through email or posted by the SMF Registration desk. Please note that you will be required to sign in every day at the SMF Registration desk.

 

Will I have free time to practice?

YES! Students will have free time during the day however, you must sign up for a practice room in order to secure your time. The commuting/day students have priority for practice rooms between the hours of 10am-5pm. The Boarding students have priority for practice rooms between the hours of 5pm-10pm.  Please sign up at the SMF Registration desk to secure your practice room and time.

 

Is there a cafeteria on campus and how can I purchase a Prepaid Meal Plan?

Yes, there is a cafeteria in the Main building and will be open every day during specific SMF meal times for participants who have purchased a Prepaid Meal Plan. There are also vending machines throughout the campus for additional snacks and drinks. We highly suggest that all participants join us for lunch and dinner each day in order to enhance the socialization aspect of the festival.  The Prepaid Meal plan will be an option through our website’s online Application and can be purchased at the time you apply or you can email us with your request at info@summitmusicfestival.org.  There will also be an option to purchase the Prepaid Meal plan during the Festival.

Can I bring my own lunch?

Yes, of course! There will be plenty of seating provided in the Cafeteria for all students.

Is there a Curfew Policy?

YES – All commuting/day participants must exit the campus each day by 10pm.

Upon check-in, please make sure that the SMF Registration desk has verified your contact information as well as the primary way to communicate with you while on campus (text, email, message apps).

 

Individual Safety Protocols are still in place for Students, Faculty and Staff – All Participants MUST continue to:

Wash your hands with soap and safe water frequently. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water, if hands are visibly dirty and prior to all meals.

Be alert for symptoms! Should you begin to have symptoms – fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, lightheadedness, shortness of breath or other symptoms of COVID, please let us know ASAP!
