Violin
The name of Aiman Mussakhajayeva, People’s artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is widely known both nationally and internationally. Aiman Mussakhajayeva is one of the brightest representatives of the violin school of Kazakhstan. Her personality can be seen in concert and in educational activities. She generously gives her talent to the people from all walks of life.
The creative growth of the talented violinist took place at the Baysseitova Republic Music School, in the class of Professor N. Patrucheva. In 1983 she brilliantly graduated from the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory (Moscow), in the class of professor V. Climov, People’s artist of the USSR.
Wide artistic thinking, full absorption in music, aspiration for perfection have promoted her to become the prizewinner of such prestigious international competition as the 1976 Belgrade International Competition (Yugoslavia), Paganini International Competitions (Genoa, Italy), the 1983 Tokyo International Competition (Japan), 1985 Sibelius International Competition (Helsinki, Finland), and the 1986 Eighth Tchaikovsky International Competition (Moscow, Russia).
Mme. Mussakhajayeva has been the soloist of the Jambul Kazakh Philharmonie since 1983. Her masterful technique, deep understanding and grasp of different styles allow her to cope easily with the most difficult violin works and successfully perform at the best concert halls of the world. Mme. Mussakhajayeva has a very wide range in performance repertoire; she performs compositions of Bach, Mozart, Hayden, Beethoven, Paganini, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, etc.
Since 1992, Mme. Mussakhajayeva became the founder and head of the State Chamber Orchestra “Academy of Soloists”. Within the eight years of its existence, the “Academy of Soloists” has achieved a wide range of repertoire from the classic to the contemporary composers. Mme. Mussakhajayeva has performed as soloist and toured with the “Academy of Soloists” throughout Russia, United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, Austria, etc.
Since 1993, Mme. Mussakhajayeva has been a jury member at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow. She is also a professor at the Moscow, Almaty, Astana, and Bishkek Music Conservatoires. Among her many students there are prizewinners of the Republic and International Competitions.
Mme. Mussakhajayeva is a member of many organizations, such as the International Academy for the Arts, Association of European Conservatoires, and Association of the Tchaikovsky International Competition, Women’s Affairs Committee of Kazakhstan, National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO.
In 1998, Mme. Mussakhajayeva realized her dream of opening the Kazakh National Academy of Music in Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan, where she serves as Rector. After 11 years of success, in 2009, the Academy gained a new status of the State Organization “Kazakh National University of Arts” which has become the unique arts educational institution that has no equivalent both in the Republic and abroad.
Mme. Mussakhajayeva holds many titles and awards, among them – People’s Artist (1986), Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1994), Academician of the International Academy of the Arts (1998), the Honorary title UNESCO “Artist for Peace” (1998). In 2000 she was endowed a State Premium from the achieved success in the field of culture and in 2002, Mme. Mussakhajayeva was awarded the prize for great achievements in the sphere of art and music. She also was awarded with a special medal dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2012 Aiman Mussakhajayeva became first ever Kazakh artist who signed the contract with the most respectable and prestige music label – Deutsche Grammophon. In December 2014, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev has awarded Mme. Mussakhajayeva with a prestigious State Award – Hero of Labor.
